I knew they were having issues coming to a new contract but that seemed to escalate quickly.

I mean, that's a decent chunk of change for a 32 year old player who was going to sign a pre-contract anywhere else in 6 months without Toronto getting any money for him. They had zero leverage here once they decided not to renew his contract. Plus they free about $7m off the books as well.

My only real reservation on the deal is that he's another right footed centreback, which leaves us in the unenviable position of playing either two right-footed centrebacks, or moving Calvo back to the middle instead of where he shines brightest(leftback). However, it's a massive upgrade on Boxy and Kallman, and by giving up only TAM for him we still have GAM left to buy down Angelo and open up a DP slot, should it be necessary.

Tielemans to Leicester. That's a pretty big get for them. I'd imagine that means Gueye will be going to PSG.



Edit: Looks like it's just a loan deal with Adrien Silva going the other way. Probably means Gueye stays.

Giovinco plays the whole "I wanted to stay but management had other ideas" card.

TFCs president replies saying his agent was impossible and wanted a raise from his current deal.

Interesting note which could simply just be hype to cool people down or actual news, but he also said hopefully in next week they'll be adding a guy in his prime. Nothing can top Giovinco entering the league, but it could come close to that.
