    Re: The Transfer Thread

15.45 Crystal Palace boss Neil Warnock has completed the signings of John Oster and Leandre Griffit on free transfers. The duo have signed short-term contracts until January.

16.05 Crewe first-team coach Steve Holland is running the rule over trialist Bobsam Elejiko as he looks to add to his defensive options.

16.19 Yeovil boss Russell Slade has signed former Reading centre-back Aaron Brown on non-contract forms to bolster his squad.

16.21 Martin O'Neill has not ruled out the possibility of playing Liverpool target Gareth Barry in the UEFA Cup.

As for Corluka, this is not 100% verified, but the word is that Spurs passed all the requisite paperwork on to the FA, and then City tried to go back on the deal to please Hughes. Legally, if true, he is our player, and Spurs are prepared to go to court over the deal. All in all, huge mess.
Yeah, I just read that on BigSoccer and a Spurs fan site. This could get interesting, hopefully City doesn't make things complicated.

          Re: The Transfer Thread

17.48 Bristol Rovers defender Danny Coles has ended speculation over his future by signing a new deal at the club. Plymouth have had two offers for Coles rejected this summer.

17.59 Swindon have made an offer to Eastleigh for winger Mark Marshall after he impressed on trial.

18.30 Hearts have signed Reggina striker Mike Tullberg on a season-long loan.

18.40 Sylvain Distin and Niko Kranjcar are keen for more new players to arrive at Portsmouth after Younes Kaboul signed from Tottenham earlier on Monday.

Here's a little piece on the Corluka saga, this from an alleged Man City employee:

"The Corluka affair is the last straw - I personally worked on the deal and can assure anyone interested that he has already been transferred to Spurs. Spurs have this evening started legal action, and he will be barred from playing for City following an injunction in the courts tomorrow."

If this and Arshavin goes through, we'll be sick nasty...

19.20 Arsenal youngster Vincent van den Berg has joined Dutch side FC Zwolle on loan. The versatile forward, 19, has yet to make a senior appearance for the Gunners.

19.39 Croatian defender Dario Simic has agreed to join Monaco from AC Milan. Simic was linked with a move to Celtic earlier in the summer.

Bentley plays on the right, so switch him and Gio.

Bent's been playing in preseason, maybe he'll be worth that absurd transfer fee last year.

I just hope you guys have massive chemistry issues, on paper the squad is sick but it depends on how they play together.

He's not going to Spurs. He spoke with the Man. City manager and decided he wanted to stay with City. If there was more to it, don't you think the media would be reporting something?

Apparently Ruud Gullit AND Alexi Lalas are jumping ship/getting the blame at LA Galaxy. Looks like that little experiment is falling apart rapidly.

Kinda like Robbie Keane was "committed to Spurs" just 2 months ago.

Nothing is over until September 1 comes. Until then, anything can happen.

Also, there's a rumor in the papers about Man Utd wanting Thierry Henry.

I'm betting Arshavin doesn't happen. The Russians are being stubborn about the asking price, and it's too much. Spurs need to call their bluff and walk away. IMO, we don't need him if Berbatov is staying (which surprisingly is a possibility now). Corluka is a deal I'd like to see get done, seeing as how we are still thin in central defense when you see Woodgate/King have about one good knee between them and the backup is Michael Dawson. Also, the rumor about Cuellar from Rangers is one I'd like to see Ramos go through and use his Spanish influence on.

21.05 Juventus manager Claudio Ranieri is set to venture back into the transfer market after midfield duo Cristiano Zanetti and Marco Marchionni were ruled out for a month due to injury.

Actually, Im not sure it's whack. Could be, but there is some strange stuff going on behind the scenes at City. There owner is now officially a fugitive seeking asylum, and is looking to offload the club to anyone willing to pay. Supposedly there was also a bid from Sunderland for Stephen Ireland that Hughes didn't know about.

It could be that this is all just be garbage, but i guess we'll find out soon enough.
