I also read today that Arsenal have reportedly put bids on Antoine Griezmann and Angel Di Maria.

You guys could at least post sources instead of "I just read."

          Concerning Di Maria:
ARSENAL, Monaco and PSG have all made formal offers for Real Madrid winger Angel Di Maria but Manchester City, Manchester United and Juventus all remain in the hunt.

Still seems like speculation though. I'd love to have him at Arsenal.

Don't think they'll sell him, he'll probably get an extension and higher wages.

David Villa has become the first ever NYCFC player. Not a bad start for them.

                  Re: The Transfer Thread

This Cesc thing is getting odd. Rumors of all these clubs being "in for him" but lack of any real quotes seems like there actually aren't any clubs in for him. Just sounds like Barca is trying to bounce him out.

Cesc never fit into their system, he's far too direct a player and they'd have to actually re-tool their system. The thing is though, while I know enough to know that Koke's best position is centrally, he almost never plays there for Atletico. Barca are dumping one of the best center mids in the world for an equally direct player that they are basically just praying they can mold into the player they wanted Cesc to be.

The craziest part for me honestly is that they DIDN'T rethink their system this last summer. Playing a direct style of soccer with Cesc sitting behind Neymar, Alexis and a more forward - thinking Messi would be insane.

I thought they were turning the corner back when they signed Alexis and then followed up with Neymar but the old guard seems to revert back to old habits. Cesc should have been playing in the Xavi role since he has some of Xavi's intelligence but with better size, pace, and an eye for goal.

The problem though is he really isn't a Xavi type player, nobody is. He's closer to Messi than anybody else on that team. I thought they were turning a corner as well because Martino tried some more direct style play but the fans etc freaked out because possession and tika taka blah blah blah.

They could have potentially the scariest offense on the planet if they just switched things up a bit.

Oh well, we will just have to settle for us having the scariest offense on the planet next season amirite?

Lampard going to NYC seems even more evident now. I thought all of the talk was just speculation, but he came out and said today he will not return to CFC next season.

All of this talk of 'retirement league' will be put to rest in a few years. I know Lampard is old but Villa has a few good years left in him. NYC must have something big planned to lure him in...

Until they actually lure players IN THEIR PRIME, it'll have that stigma. And yes, NYC does have something big planned to lure him in - bags of cash.

Yeah he's def closer to Messi, even tried to play the false 9 with the Nat'l team. I will settle for just the scariest offense in London, lol.

I mean, technically, don't we already have that?

                                This is the weirdest summer.
