Re: The Transfer Thread
I think we've done manager stuff in here in the past.
It's been rumored for about a week, but Brendan Rodgers was officially named Celtic's new manager today. Good luck. Lose once to Rangers and you're out of a job there these days. Isn't enough to win the league in February.Comment

Re: The Transfer Thread
From what I understand from Celtics fans was that Deila was actually doing pretty poorly in general. Both league and cup form being all around bad.
Most Celtics fans say they won the league DESPITE DeilaComment

Re: The Transfer Thread
Most Celtic supporters are ****ing spoiled then. And delusional. If they think they should be doing better in Europe these days, when Scottish football in general is leaking money left and right, perhaps they should stop thinking it's the 1960s.

Also Celtic fans really wanted to see some more exciting youth signings and youth integration into the team, which Deila basically did the opposite.
Anyway, Rodgers is unquestionably a better coach than Deila so it's an upgrade they wouldn't want to pass on.Comment

Re: The Transfer Thread
Celtic needed to do something, especially with the revival of Rangers under Warburton. The quality of Scottish football was what kept Celtic at the top of Scotland, not Deila's coaching. Failing to put away Malmo in the Champions League Playoff when they jumped out to a 3-0 lead at Celtic Park was the writing on the wall. Getting bounced by Rangers in the Scottish Cup semis was the final nail in the coffin.
Rangers have Matt Crooks and Josh Windass from Accrington coming in, as well as Liverpool youth Jordan Rossiter. Sounds like Warburton is looking to add some experience to Rangers, with the latest rumors surrounding Joey Barton and Niko Kranjcar.Comment

I, for one, am looking forward to the riot sparked by Joey Barton in his first Old Firm match.Comment

Re: The Transfer Thread
Joey Barton to Rangers is official.

Rangers also confirmed the releases of Nicky Law, David Templeton, and Nicky Clark. Law never seemed to get in a groove during his time at Rangers. Templeton was brilliant, but his glass knees couldn't stay on the pitch. Clark scored 41 goals in 46 games for QotS, but couldn't replicate that goal scoring success when he moved to Rangers.Comment
