PGA Tour 2K23: What’s in the Bag?

Thought I’d start this thread to inject some positivity on the board. For fun and for curiosity: what’s in your bag?

Here’s mine: Bridgestone ball, TaylorMade woods/irons/wedges, Scotty Cameron putter, no hybrid

PGA Tour 2K23: What’s in the Bag?

My bag resembles my real life bag down to the shaft colors.
Rogue Driver
G425 3w (I play a 7w)
3-6 iron in P7MC, 7-PW in P7TW, (I combo P790/770 in my own bag)
SM9 Gap and Sand
Black MyMG3 Lob wedge
Newport 2
Pro V1

I find myself always trying to put it together similar but more toury to my own bag.

Re: PGA Tour 2K23: What’s in the Bag?

I've been switching as I max out sponsors and get to the next. Right now I'm using the Hogan irons and wedges with Wilson woods and hybrids. Pro V1 ball. Still using the Cobra driver. Just looks mint with the gold foil trim on it. My pitching wedge is Bridgestone since that's the only set ive unlocked with a PW.

I'm a Mizuno guy in real life so once I've maxed all sponsors out I'll switch to as much Mizuno stuff as possible.

Re: PGA Tour 2K23: What’s in the Bag?

I haven't messed with the clubs at all since I started, other than swapping out a tsi3 head on my driver. It added maybe 5 yards lol.

I get that it's fun to try to spend time on getting everything you want, but is anyone really seeing any benefit to it when shooting? Just curious. I was under the impression it was all pretty much cosmetic.

For instance, if I got a different shaft and grip to go with the tsi3 head, would the club be slightly more accurate, go slightly farther, etc, or is it really just for looks?

I did finally get myplayer to look a bit more like me once I earned some coin. I'm good with it even though the options are more limited than 2k21, at least at this point.

Yes, it's purely cosmetic. Honestly, I shifted my focus to the look of my golfer and bag for a while to distract me from the game's shortcomings. Fittings affect attributes while brands only affect appearance.

Re: PGA Tour 2K23: What’s in the Bag?

I did pick a new driver again and added a suggested grip (don't even know what brand either are lol), and with doing that twice my distance that it shows from the tee went up from 274 to 285, so unless that is BS, at least choosing different clubs gives you different attributes, distances, etc. At least it appears that way.

I played a quick round and am now averaging about 310 from the tee, so it does seem to have increased it a bit. So ya, I think you're right...just different clubs and fittings have different attributes but the brands themselves are just cosmetic, and I assume they have different attributes to them as well just "off the rack". Anyway, enough of that...I'm cool with my gear, myplayer look, and I am enjoying the new gameplay changes.

But wow...the more you play this game...it's a *very* incremental upgrade unless you care about playing as a pro. I do like the tiebreakers, though.
