PGA Tour 2K25 Early Access Thread - Impressions, Videos, Streams, etc.

I broke down and bought the Deluxe version last night. I got up this morning at 5:15 to play it. I like the way it feels. I played my first Korn Ferry Tour round in pro difficulty settings and pro AI players settings. It's a good fit for me right now. I shot a 70 in the first round, with six birdies, two bogeys, and a double bogey. I'm tied for second after round one. I like the atmosphere created. The announcing was really good and well produced. Even though I'm the only player seen on the course, it somehow had an inexplicable "bigger event" than a solo round feel to it. I might actually get into the career mode at long last.

I tried creating a society and it was an epic failure. The game crashes every time I go to the logo creation screen. It failed and crashed at different points in the creation process, but after six attempts, I finally got a society created without a logo, but when I tried to create an event... it crashed right after clicking on the "Create Event" button. I'll file a bug report, but I'd guess 2K already knows about it.

Still, I'm buzzed by the gameplay that I experienced in my one round so far. This has more potential than I gave it credit for. Oh how I wish I could turn his Depth of Field setting off in the console versions.

Played about 4 rounds in this morning. After tinkering with the setting, I feel like this has the potential to be the best playing golf game since TW ‘14. The upgrade they made to the unity engine is fantastic, Scottsdale didn’t do it justice.

The only thing I’m not much of a fan of is the putting, it feels like the motion of the putter slows down right before contact. It’s hard to judge how far to pull back the stick since I am playing with the meter off, and don’t see the percentage before I take back the stick.

So sounds like it's pretty easy to earn VC?

Do you earn VC in career mode and doing other things as well?

Reviews might not go up until closer to full release, I’m guessing Respawn may be first.

I got ~125 VC per 18 hole round, in both Quick Play and Career Mode. And you can do 3 quests every day that reward 125 VC each. Not bad tbh.

I think Respawn said he was going to do a video review of the game after he got 100 hours into it.

Dynamic crowds appear to be in based on a few videos I’ve seen of Q school rounds having very sparse crowds…. I’m guessing it’s tied to your follower count.

Also shadows (clouds moving) and maybe some version of dynamic lighting in?

Some nice little immersion details… should make every round feel a little bit different.

Unfortunately, that's not the case. There's just fewer crowds at the Q-School and Korn Ferry events by default.

Followers don't really do much, other than tie into Quests.
