The Edmonton Oilers have made a big change at the end of free-agent signing 2008. owner Daryl Katz has demoted Steve Tambellini and hired Jack Sneider as the new General Manager.
Katz: "Jacks hockey sense and business smarts are the talk of the league... we just happened to be the team to make him the best offer"
The Oilers have signed Sneider to a 25 year contract.
On another note: Edmonton has also fired the goalie coach and hired Mikko Lehtinen the goalie who backstopped the Blackhawks to the Stanley cup in his rookie year!

Home Opener

The Edmonton Oilers have not made any trades, signings or call-ups so far this season. GM Jack Sneider reportedly stated that Edmonton has a strong core of young forwards, veteran defense and feels that they are split on the goal-tending side of things.

Sneider " Dwayne has been solid for the Oilers since he was traded here from Minesota, and I plan on seeing him out of his career in an Oil uniform."
