The Post-Kovy Thrashers: An Atlanta NHL 2k10 Legacy

The Atlanta Thrashers have entered a new phase in their franchise history, one without their superstar captain and fan favorite Ilya Kovalchuk. The Thrashers dealt Kovalchuk to the New Jersey Devils after contract negotiations broke down between the Russian sniper and Atlanta General Manager Don Waddell. Kovalchuk's legacy with the Thrashers will be one of brilliant offensive plays, plenty of emotion, but only one playoff appearance and zero playoff wins. Now Atlanta's collection of young talent, a few veterans, and role players must move forward with a collective mindset in their pursuit of success. No one gives this new version of Thrashers much of a chance, but that may be the way they like it.
