You mean before right? That doesn't mean too much. Look at Alexandre Daigle. He had great stats in the QMJHL too and was picked 1st overall and now he's playing for the Langnau Tigers here in Switzerland.

It's not to different from the DEL but it's a bit more Canadian because you can have 10 foreigners in a game, in Switzerland only 4.

Gamache's big year in the Q was as a 19 year old, so he was already drafted and had an advantage over most players. But he was only a 9th round pick, so not much expectation for him at the next level like Daigle.
