Local Legend in Last Year

The last year of Sebastiaan Jansen's career with the Victoriaville Tigres is about to begin annd the community is sad to see him go. Today, during the inauguaral fan night at the Victoriaville rink, hundreds of supporters came out and thanked Jansen for his long-time support of the entire community. Mayor Howard gave Jansen a special plaque, and the Tigre management have confirmed that they are going to name a new section of the seat in the rink after Jansen.

However, for the long-time captain of the Tigres, this is the beginning not the end. "This coming summer, I might be drafted into the NHL," says the local superstar defenceman, "But it all depends how I play, and how the team plays this coming season." Tough words for a team that has yet to win any major accomplishment. Can they do it?

According to Larry Funse, assisant team coach, this year is the year. "Our players are confident, and with Jansen's leadershiiip, I'm sure we're going to make a run for the Cup." Although Jansen may not be sure of the team's chances, team-mates are quick to support Sebastiaan.

"It will be sad to see him go, he has made the team what it is," says one teammate. "we're gonna play as hard as possible to get Jansen the recognition he deserves."

Captain Robert Miller entering final Winterhawk Season

This coming year is exciting for Robert Miller, the captian of our Winterhawks. Since he arrived here from Austria, Miller has been helping the local WHL team ligght up the goal horn in every game they've played. Last season alone, Miller tallied 63 assists, second highest in the entire CHL.

What does this budding superstar think of his chances? "I'm confident that not only will we make it to the playoffs this year, but that the NHL teams scouting our games will see ssome of the action I've been providing."

Miller has been attracting attention from all over the NHL, as he is ranking high on scouting reports. In particular, Miller has been attracting attention from the Nashville Predators and the Montreal Canadiens. Who would he rather play for?

"I'm just happy to have scouts watching my game, annnd any NHL team that wants to watch sshould. I'm interested in anybody and everybody."
