Cup or Bust - Pittsburgh Penguins Dynasty

12:37 A.M. JUL 15, 2012 - Joel Everett ESPN Insider

It is official. Dan Byslma has unexpectedly resigned as the head coach of the Pittsburgh Penguins due to personal reasons. The question on everyone's mind is...who will replace him? Numerous candidates have been interviewed, but according to Penguins GM Ray Sherro, one stood above the rest. "We went through a lot of qualified candidates, but we wanted someone who would really shake the organization. Someone who could take the Penguins to the next level. Our decision was unanimous. We decided to hire Eric Felton, the new head coach of the Pittsburgh Penguins." says Sherro.

The expectations will be high for Coach Felton. With a talented roster and superstars on every end of the ice, much will be expected of the new man in charge. Many fans are saying that it is the Stanley Cup or bust this season, and that there will be no room for growing pains in this crucial season. Will Coach Felton be able to guide the Pens into another Cup run, or will he be an utter disappointment in the Steel City?

(I love the Penguins and have always wanted to do a dynasty as them. This should be fun! I'll be uploading video highlights and stat sheets week by week.)

Re: Cup or Bust - Pittsburgh Penguins Dynasty

The Penguins season started off slowly. They had a 1-3-1 start and were shutout in two of those games. However, Penguins captain Sidney Crosby has lit up the scoring since those games. With 9 goals and 7 assists, the superstar has thrust himself to the front of every major award conversation. The Pens went on a 4 game winning streak and currently sit at 5-4-2. The biggest news of the month is that Crosby has gone down to injury. After a vicious hit by Capitals star Alexander Ovechkin, Crosby went down to a separated shoulder and will be out for 2-5 weeks.

(Just a quick write up for the first few weeks. I'm making some video highlights and stat sheets, so just stay tuned!)
