CANUCKS-JETS MAKE HUGE BLOCKBUSTER DEAL!



Vancouver, B.C. – Vancouver Canucks General Manager Jim Benning announced today that the Canucks have acquired left winger Evander Kane from the Winnipeg Jets in exchange for Hunter Shinkaruk, Alex Burrows (30% retained-1.35M) and a first round pick in 2015.

Kane, 23, has appeard in seventeen games with the Winnipeg Jets this season, recording 6 goals and 9 assists and a rating of -1. The Vancouver, BC native played three seasons with the Vancouver Giants of the Western Hockey League before making his professional debut in 2009.10 with the now defunct Atlanta Thrashers.

The 6’2”, 195-pound winger was originally selected by the Atlanta Thrashers 4th overall in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft.
