Re: M25 Roster thoughts and ideas

I'm on the fence with M25

The editing is much quicker than 24 though

But one thing I realized when playing the trial is the new kickoff rules simply don't fit classic rosters. It might be small thing but I wish EA would have given us the option to use old KO rules if we desired.

I personally didn't think gameplay was that big of a leap over 24 and with the way the game is headed now I think my focus might start being on early 2000's rosters as opposed to my 90's era because EA's football games are way too pass happy now.

Think I might continue with M24 for the 90's file I started and pick a season between 2000-2010 to play out on M25.

It's just a shame that on the current systems we really haven't gotten a better overall product yet from madden. The lack of customization doesn't compare to what we had 10-15 years ago.

The series itself is so far behind that of MLB The Show & NBA 2k when it comes to classic teams

Agree. New kickoff ruins classic roster immersion. All sports games should take notes from nba 2k and give us eras or at least enough customization options to create our own eras.

These games have become Arena League Football. Just played Minnesota at Atlanta, 21-14 after 1 qtr. Packers at Giants, 35-30 at half. Ita line up and down the field constantly. I’m finding MLB the Show as the Best sports franchise hands down.

I have not decided on M25 either. I am doing some test work right now. I agree that editing is much faster than M24, which is a huge plus.

M24 was simply unplayable for me. The 3-4 defense glitch was just too ridiculous and the complete lack of penalties.

So, if I do not use M25, I will go back to M23 or M21.

The passing is out of control, which also leads me to the possibility of not making rosters for franchise, but just for use in Play Now, where I can just use custom playbooks. I can manipulate the game through playbooks to get the right run/pass ratios and everything.

As for the kickoff, I agree it is an annoyance, but it is not a game killer for me. So I can overlook that.

Since I am not a baseball fan at all. I have only played MLB The Show a couple of times, and I think it was MLB 18.

The last NBA game I played was probably 21 or so. Just not my games. I hear about all of the great stuff they offer and wish Madden did as well. But I don't have the direct knowledge since I don't play them.

While I have those type of games occasionally, it is not regular. So far I have not had anything that high scoring with M25. Good sliders can help a lot here.

Also, when I make rosters, my ratings system generally helps with this as well. So, this is not a concern for me.

Really, my only concern at this moment with M25 is the run/pass ratio. It is unacceptable that EA has allowed it to get this out of control and refuses to address it as an issue or do anything to fix it.

Re: M25 Roster thoughts and ideas

I will be tinkering with the sliders again to tighten things up. The College Game on the other hand is very impressive with the settings/sliders I have set up. Downloaded local high schools and colleges and I’m loving the games. Usually low scoring, the HS games, but with the kicking settings really lowered, even the CPU goes for it on 4th. Wish I could incorporate more CPU 2pt. Conv., but regardless, it’s real fun. Still playing those classic rosters on M20, 22, 23 & 24. Thanks!!!Can’t wait for the next Classic Roster!!!

Re: M25 Roster thoughts and ideas

How is the Madden 25 Teambuilder relative to using for Classic Rosters ?

I am using College Football 25 Teambuilder with 16 Local High School Teams in an iCloud Dynasty, which is working fairly well. I have all 16 teams in the Sun Belt Conference. I selected for them to play 12 conference games but the game seems only to allow around 9 conference games or so........ I have the Sun Belt divided into 2 divisions ...... I am using the existing Rosters from the 16 teams I replaced with Teambuilder teams ...........

Just wondering, iteachpercussion, if you are using Madden's Teambuilder or doing it the normal way to build your Classic Roster ?
