Penalties sliders theories

I'm open this thread because I want to hear your opinions about penalties sliders.

If I'm not mistaken some people believe that these affect gameplay. Like gameplay sliders. Example rising pass interference make Defense play more loose etc.

May I ask if we have any source from EA confirming this?

Yeah it affect gameplay but maybe just because it triggers a penalty animation that is being called. I always thought that this was just the dice roll chance of triggering a penalty in the game and nothing more. I'm really interested in reading about both sides.

That being said I'm questioning my penalty sliders because of these. With madden being so variable it's not easy to see if it changed because penalties sliders or because it's the nature of the game.
