Start with default then make your own adjustments, esp if the maker didn’t do them based on playing from that particular Play Style.

Some things are universal, but a lot of things under-the-hood are different

Khalib has proved a great point. I am going to play comp and never Sim again for several reasons:

1. I have beat my hands on the table for what appears to be 7 years now dating back to Ian Cummings In regard to player ratings. I think there is WAY to many ratings for an individual player, and that’s not even mentioning the traits that maybe conflict the code for this as well. If SIM plays to the ratings then it’s no wonder this game plays as sour as it does. So take it away from the code as much as you can, which brings me to the next…

2. I believe the game is developed and tuned in Comp setting. That’s what the madden tourney is and that’s what the team uses. Logic says that if we want the best madden stay away from “sim” because I don’t know if the team really knows what that is. I believe they just link so much do the bad code with bad ratings and voila…we get sim.

I have seen the majority of sim players having off the wall experiences vs some of the comp/arcade crew who get much better games. I just caved in yesterday and bought this mess cause I want college football so bad I settle for NFL lmao I need to just hook my PS3 up and get that NCAA 14 and be done with it.

Losing in the divisional 24-21, the gameplay team has made some more nice subtle improvements with this update. I'm really enjoying this game a whole lot.

My defensive coordinator actually got hired by the Jags as their new head coach. First time this has happened to me since then added the coordinators.

Post patches, M23 is a fantastic game.

I play on AM defaults (everything 50) and just make two coaching adjustments each game.

On offense I use conservative ball carrier and on defense I use strip ball conservative. Those 2 simple changes have basically eliminated tackles battles and excessive broken tackles.

Those were the 2 big issues I had with the game.

As far as point #2 is concerned, Ian or Clint maintained that the game was tested on AP

years ago.

It might have changed since then, I am not sure.

I know Clint works in the game play area, and I have a hard time

believing Clint doesn't know what sim is.

The difference is, he is going up the chain and being denied

some sim elements of the game. ie penalties

We all know, just because your the creative director or project lead for something…doesn’t mean you actually get your ideas implemented. It is just as you said, the upper echelon of leadership at EA absolutely being poor and just out of touch. I would add micro managers and lazy minded to that list.

Sure…Clint knows what SIM is, however when you can’t rebuild the game and strip the old code completely out…and instead layer new “good ideas” on top of an already existing terrible code and “old ideas” we have what we have now. I mean dude…penalties have been an issue for how long now? Seriously…how long? Field sense audio is weird as heck and sounds a ton like the old NCAA audio before Haubamiller fixed it. Doesn’t matter if Clint knows what Sim is supposed to look like…either he doesn’t know how to implement it, or his plea to cut the limbs to save the body went unheard…the end result is a product that has had the same issues since goodness knows how long. Honestly…the best way to send a message to this “has been” company is to straight up deny exclusive license to use the NFL and open it up. EA has literally lost its ability to:

1. Allow directors to do whatever they want and give them autonomy

2. Or it’s the director themselves who make these terrible decisions and the leadership is to naive to do what’s necessary.

Either way, the exclusive rights HAS to be terminated from a business perspective. Madden has been reviewed terribly for over 6 years now and I would actually be curious as to the revenue stream the past 3 years. Would like to know if it’s steady, incline, or decline. Either way, the NFL Esports team has to stop being idiots and let other parties make the game. If anything…if I am 2K, maybe argue a monopoly case against the NFL and EA for not allowing another company to compete and forcing the consumer to buy the only product available with NFL. I am probably off on this sentiment, my bottom line though is I hate EA as a company and I would imagine it’s one of the most stressful and toxic place to work amongst the top tier production companies.
