You think he will iron man it in the NFL?

I think most of you make good points. Definitely need designated long snappers. It is definitely time to consider edge rushers and Z, Y, X receivers... no doubt.

But if we are just merely deleting "DE" and inserting "edge" then no thank you. Those changes are just as insignificant to me as people being excited because they added a 12th version of Nike gloves. It has to mean something in the game. If I can just insert any random player to serve the role as long snapper, what's the point? It needs to have a tangible impact in the game.

I just do not care about surface changes.

From what I'm hearing , NFL GM's see him being a DB primarily and firstly but he has enough potential to be a dangerous 4th receiving option where a team would work to build a package for him to get playing time as a receiver too. I don't think Hunter would have gotten the Heisman on his receiving alone. Afterall, it's his defense and the possibility he can develop into a shutdown corner is what's going to drive his draft status. As much money as a team is going to invest in him as a DB, expecting him to play as much offense on Sunday's as he did Saturday's, that's a lot of physical wear and tear that you really don't need to stress your investment's physical health. If Travis expects to play 95% of his pro team's snaps, its crazy and IMO would be like Shohei Ohtani (or any staff ace rotation starting pitcher) to expect to average 8 innings pitched per start. When I want to see real, two-way players, and a lot of them, I'll watch some NBA lol.

I've been asking them for years to fix the holders on field goals and extra points. When I was growing up the backup qbs were the holders but now the punters are. I gave up asking when they added all those new fake field goal plays a few years ago.

I agree actually, they need to include some more detailed understanding of playbook knowledge or positional skill sets for each player to make these switches impactful. I remember they had something like that in NFL Head Coach but its been way too long for me to remember how it worked.

It would be nice if they could simplify player positions to edge, linebackers, and interior defensive linemen. Then have the actual position details like will and Sam on the depth chart.
The safeties swapping is why I always hesitate to use defensive auto flip. My prototypes are a Ed Reed FS (second half of his career when he was exclusively a coverage guy) and Kam Chancellor at SS. Its rage inducing when Madden puts my coverage FS in the box and my big hitting hybrid LB SS back as the single high.

This limitation is one of the main reasons I recently switched from using a primary single high look to more quarters coverage.
