I couldn't tell you one way or another. I guess a moderator would have to decide if that comment was pertinent to the discussion and thus "on topic". Seems like an attempt to flame/troll from my angle, which isn't necessary.

Well....u seem jaded that u didnt land the EA gig as every 3rd word flames EAs rating system ...maybe lose the hatred toward EA?

But yes....your right, i could care less about your rating system....so....i'll let u be

My criticism of EA's ratings system isn't a flame, but it is constructively negative. I provide evidence for that, within the guidelines of the forum rules (being constructively negative) as I often offer analysis and a differing approach. There are probably several pages of posts on the OS forums, in various topics, to illustrate this.

Truth be told, I haven't cared for EA since they bungled the NextGen of Madden games going back to 2006. Before that, I actually LOVED EA's Madden series, even far more than the NFL2K series of games. It was only after spending some time on OS and playing NFL2K long after its release that I came around to it. The interview I had, however, was in 2011, long after I took over rating players on the website and long after I started to become skeptical of EA's Madden series. I applied for the position at the request of an EA employee who found my site and recommended me to the brass at EA-Tiburon in Orlando. It was my hope that I could help change things for the better in regards to providing real data for rating Madden players.

What I found out in the interview was unexpected, and I left the conversation with the developers with more of a feeling of hopelessness. Hopelessness for an improved, realistic, true-to-life, Madden-gaming experience that mimics the NFL and lives up to EA's catchy slogan. What I found instead was utter disappointment. If EA asked me to join the team today and rate players with no restrictions and threat of amendment, I would take the job in a heartbeat. Not for my own personal goals (my current day job probably pays more than EA would offer), but for the sake of the community that desperately wants a game that represents real life.

So I wouldn't have call my position toward EA "jaded". Rather, I would have called it "disappointed".

I remember a day in early August of 2004 that my best friend brought NFL2K5 over to play. I was like, "WTH is this!?. Look at Al Harris! His SPD is only 82!? That's not realistic! What a crappy game! Let's play last year's Madden instead."

Oh the error of my ways at the ripe age of 19.

***UPDATE***

Some players have ratings changes as of 7/17/2014 added to the site. Most of these are QBs that had a small glitch with their CTH ratings. This has been corrected. For those making rosters, please double check your QB ratings.

I just want to let you know, a couple of days ago there was an issue (must have been a glitch) with a bunch of the players I looked up on the site. Several had a rating of 0 on acceleration, awareness and catching. and surprisingly high numbers on deep and medium throw accuracy (these were mostly RBs and WRs I was looking up). The ratings now appear to be correct, but I just wanted to point it out in case you weren't aware of it.

It might be a factor, but the players I looked up are not currently in the NFL (Curtis Steele, Terrell Sinkfield and Chad Owens were three of the players I looked up - I'm creating the CFL's Toronto Argonauts in Madden).

I was aware of it thanks to CM Hope, who sent me a PM that day. I had a huge update and 5 of the columns didn't transfer over. It was fixed later that day.

We have a lot of players in the database who are not currently in the NFL, but they are on the website, even if playing in other leagues. We simply list them as Free Agents.
