FBGRatings Seeks to Recalibrate Madden Ratings, Change Game

This may have been mentioned before (to many pages to read at this point), certain players perform better on the field than there actual given numbers.
Even if you look outside the numbers, some guys could be exploited. My concern is speed ratings, for instance the best corner in football Nnamdi Asomugha has a speed rating of 87 and acc of 82, now while these numbers may be accurate, the Madden system LOVES speed. He is now a threat to be burned guys with much lesser talent. Let's keep in mind Nnamdi is thrown at less than twice a game, I just don't want to see someone like him as an average player. I believe certain players will have to be modified due to the Madden engine. I think what you are trying to do is great for sim fans, so I am excited to say the least.

Speed does not mean you are a great football player. I would concentrate more on his position specific attributes like MCV, ZCV, PRC, and PRS which are all in the upper 90s. If there is a speedy WR who is fast but has a release rating of 50 or a route running of 60 he will get shut down. Don't worry too much about it. This system is specifically designed to allow individual attributes that are position specific to be at the forefront.

why does your scouting data say that OT levi brown's pass blocking strength and footwork equate to a 95 and 80 rating, respectively, when pro football focus (who i really think grades pretty accurately) grades him as the worst pass blocking tackle last season and one of the top 5 worst over the last 3 years? why such a huge difference?

Because team schemes and cohesion does not always equate to a personal rating. The scouting data also depicts potential, which is sometimes not always met in every instance.

Great breakdown of some ratings. I was also curious to know if you had any interest in adding the new player traits to your data. I know they're new so it wouldn't be an overnight thing, but is it something you've thought about?
