i think it really shouldn't be that hard to do. i don't care if the commentary is a bit choppy, as long as it isn't Arma II hostile.vehicle. two-clicks.WEST.of you.

every game there should be about 3 or 4 positives the commentators can start off about for each team.

if it were Pats Broncos, they would start out with Brady, the Manning, their seasons. the next strength the broncos receivers, the patriots pulling games off in the clutch. then for the broncos, showcasing von miller and a good secondary (just take the average overall rating and then their defensive ranking). i can't really think of a third for the pats since their so injury depleted.

then you go into what the opposing teams will probably gameplan for. the pats attacking the weaker broncos front seven, the broncos playing a lot of man to man against an average group of pats receivers, etc. then mention the teams previous games as wins/ losses, and mention a streak. and that's about all you need. for the playoffs, mention the seeding, and any other playoff particulars.

all they have to do is program the game to recognize top 1, 2, 3 players on a team, top average of certain player groups and their respective season stats. recognize the teams worst average and their season stats. it's just a bunch of the computer acknowledging yes/no.

then during the game, just compile the stats and base the commentary off there. player performance, unanswered points, team stats ETC.

it's 2013 man, it's time to start getting this stuff. i would rather have all this and average graphics/gameplay VS great gameplay and stale atmosphere. the better the atmosphere, the more you forget it's a game.
you're telling me that you want better commentary than gameplay? are you serious?

Commentary is pretty bad, too much silence coming from the booth, way too repetitive. I guess it could be worse though. Imagine if they got some bum like Gus Johnson to call the game. That would REALLY be bad.

It's not hard to 'imagine' football when you're recording lines. Why not just have the game running, as the voice actors watch and react pretending its a real game? I don't know how 2K does it but they've pretty much mastered the art of commentary, minus the part where they talk about players on your team using the same lines every single time you play as them, which can get tiresome in association mode.

better ATMOSPHERE, not just commentary.

the game is pretty solid as it is. they've made a great leap forward from madden 11. however, the atmosphere to the games is dead. i have no interest in franchise because of it.

that's why i say for next year, they should focus on eliminating glitches and little things(ie, ball physics, progression system, weather, mongoloid quarterback models) , and vamping up the presentation.

gameplay is already on the right track, it's going to get better by default. now is the time to make the leap forward in the presentation and gamne atmosphere.

I sorely miss Al Michaels and Cris Collinsworth. Best announce team Madden has ever had, imo.

This. This is what I was talking about. Although I wouldn't prioritize atmosphere over gameplay - to me they should have equal attention.

Just play any NBA 2K game from the last 5 years and you'll shake your head at how far behind madden is in the commentary department. Hell even FIFA has decent enough commentary, I don't know what's going on with madden
