The ESPN license...

With NCAA football done with, what does EA do with the ESPN license that they were using for that game? Do you think they will take that and use some of it to bring to the next Madden?

EA uses that license in FIFA as well.

Probably not, seeing how EA has had the license since 2K bowed out...

I still don't know why they haven't added it into the game even if it was for the Monday night game. I think it would add a lot to the game as well as a score ticker on the bottom of the screen displaying other scores from other games going on.

1. I think the NFL prefers that EA use NFL network for as much of the presentation as possible and doesn't want EA using ESPN.

2. EA obtained the ESPN license the same year they got the NFL, AFL, NCAA and the rest. From the start it was really a move to kill the competition more than to use it in their own game. The ESPN broadcast style was a key part of 2ks game. If they couldn't lean on that, there is no way a generic game could be successful. A classic EA business decision.

The funny thing is, they acquired all of those licenses, and their presentation is still 10 years behind the other game.

Never thought about it that way. With that said, give us some NFL network stuff. I just want to see some branded presentation that is similar to watching football on tv.
