use the top rookie prospects… When you start your CCM they'll all be free agents.. I simulate the preseason and each team signs them for 1 year…
Then the following year a lot of them get released to free agency again and this is where they get their longer contracts… The 1st year is just to boost them up, get playing time. Its fun seeing which team "so called drafts" each player.

The Raiders went to the Super Bowl signing old players(Gannon, Rice, Garner, Sam Adams, Romanowski, Rod Woodson, Eric Allen, Tory James, Trace Armstrong, Andre Rison) All of these old guys signed with the Raiders during free agency, and helped them win 3 straight division titles, and appear in a Super Bowl something the franchise hasn't come close to since. I like signing players with experience every strategy doesn't work 100% of the time. How many times have we seen teams like the Browns or Bills go with a young roster only to win 3-5 games.
