Stores will begin receiving there shipments of games closer to the release date.

Since games drop on Tuesday (usually), the distributors for whatever game company wants to make sure these stores have these games on there shelves.

With hundreds (maybe thousands) of big retail stores (gamestop, toys r us, walmart, ect), coupled in with hundreds of smaller mom n pop stores, these distributors need to ship these games out roughly a week ahead of time, but not too far in advance.

It's reasonable to say that most stores will receive the game by Friday. It's right before the weekend, and it gives a 2 day buffer for any shipment delays that happen all the time.

The hope is that some retail stores get the game a little ahead of time, Wednesday or Thursday are not far fetched.

So to answer your question in a nutshell -- we are expecting copies because there's only so long these distributors have before they have to ship these games out to avoid any problems.

Guys, It pains me to see some of you wanting to spend so much money to get this game early, because in reading and listening to initial impressions, there are bugs that are starting to show their ugly little heads. Remember, this is EA. Have you seen the latest thought from SB in regards to the CPU running game? It's none of my business how you spend your money, but, before you do something stupid, sit back, take a deep breath, and wait for Tuesday. There may even be a patch.
