How do Schemes Impact Players in Connected Franchise?

I don't quite understand how schemes affect player performance in Connected Franchise. If I play a 3-4 OLB in a 4-3 Scheme, will he perform poorly because he isn't in his preferred scheme? Will he take a massive awareness hit or something?

I understand that typically a 3-4 OLB has the skill set of a pass rusher, so he wouldn't be ideal for a 4-3 OLB. But I guess my main question is, will a player's ratings and on-field performance be reduced if he is in the wrong scheme?

The only reduced rating should be overall, as far as I understand. It doesn't change any attributes, it just helps give you an idea if a guy is a good fit for the scheme you run

So if I understand correctly, scheme is essentially just a recommendation for how the player's skills would fit into my system?

Yes it basically gives you an idea of how his relevant skills match up with your scheme. If Aldon Smith got traded to Tampa Bay and put at OLB, his skills would all be the same, but they wouldn't get much use out of him since he would be dropping in coverage most of the time

Awesome, that's exactly what I wanted to know, thanks! I like to play a 4-3 defense and blitz my ROLB a good 90% of the time on 1st/2nd down, so it makes sense that I put the "typical" 3-4 OLB who has good pass rushing skills in that position.

You could just set the individual 'rolb' scheme setting to 3-4 pass rusher and see an accurate overall.

They scheme impacts the player a lot that's why you have to have a player that fits your scheme I think there overall drops a little to if its not the right scheme
