Billick-Era Ravens D Playbook

In looking over the legends' offensive playbooks, I like Billick's because of its heavy use of I-form sets, and that got me thinking about how much I loved the Billick-era Ravens defense.

Which of the game's current defensive playbooks is most similar to the attack 43 they ran during their heyday, when they had guys like Boulware and Thomas tearing it up at LOLB but also had pretty aggressive ends?

I LOVE the Billick and Vermeil books, or any decedent of WC Vertical / Air Coryell stuff...

As far as the D Book query goes:

Take a look at MIN / Zimmer's attacking 4-3...

It's actually pretty unique and had a bunch of stuff in it I haven't seen countless times in Madden before...

To be honest that was Rex Ryan time and they were running a lot of 46

Re: Billick-Era Ravens D Playbook

There is actual a book written by Rex and Jeff Walker talking about all the 46 defense they ran back then..only issue is Rex then and even now with his version using 34 personal (46bear front) is that the Weak Side LB and SS switched spots..so current/past Madden Playbooks do not have the personal lined up correctly..it is more old school 46 bear from Bears or even Eagles days..below pics is "old school" or what is in Madden

Re: Billick-Era Ravens D Playbook

This is current personal line up of 46bear front or even 34 personal "bear" front

Very useful! So Madden has this wrong. Go figure.

I'll check the MIN book out...
