I play in coach mode. When I call a Read Option, does the QB make the correct read or does he always keep if I don't manually hold the button to hand off?

To make my question more obvious: do Read Option plays work properly in coach mode without the human player needing to interfere?

I've never seen the QB hand it off. He always keeps it.

I think you have to hold the snap button for handing off, try it.
