RBs: Open Field Moves

What are you guys doing to get free with one defender left?

I love the rush of sneaking through the line of scrimmage, avoiding the linebacker then facing off against a pursuing safety. Problem is, I can never make the right move to make the miss. Maybe I get too excited and fancy. Seems like trucks, stiff arms and super jukes leave time for everybody to catch up.

I would like to start working on my open field moves. Do you have any tips?

One of my favorite moves when the safety has an angle on me is the stop and go. Quickly pull the precision modifier then release and hit sprint. He should go flying past your face

Re: RB's: Open Field Moves

I like using the juke moves with the R-stick and going Right-Left-Right in a fast motion. If you time it right or use the left trigger correctly (which usually isn't needed for this juke move), you should usually make the open field tackler miss or slide off if he's coming at you.

Re: RB's: Open Field Moves

I've made a small highlight reel of Shady McCoy vs online opponents:

https://xboxdvr.com/gamer/KingJrocc23/video/717739

I usually run outsides because shady is a player you'd like to put in space. And I usually just use left and right simple jukes. Also, like the above poster said, use R-L-R or vice versa.

Once you start doing them in the open field more, you'll start getting the timing down when you should hit them with the juke. It's pretty easy. Granted it is harder when you hit a hole up the middle.

What difficulty is that on? All-Pro?

Whatever the difficultly is in online ranked. I believe it is All-Pro.

Those are all online. I play a CFM on All-Madden and it's the same.

The R-L-R move is my go to, but I guess on a run up the middle I'd lower my shoulder or stiff arm.

Re: RB's: Open Field Moves

The R-L-R/L-R-L "shimmy" has been my go-to move as well. It's good at shaking defenders and it doesn't slow you down too much. It's most effective when cutting back against the defender's pursuit angle and using his momentum against him.
