Hey, I'm 'new' to Madden

Last time I played a football game was Madden 10 on the 360. Now I have a PS4 and I was hoping to get some opinions on the newer games. I'm more of a NHL and MLB gamer, but seeing as NHL is not looking to good I'm going to be playing a lot more FIFA, but I'm thinking about picking Madden back up. How good are the games compared to Madden 10? Does it have CFL yet? What's are the offline career modes like?

Madden NFL 10 and Madden NFL 15 at their core play pretty similarly, especially with their passing mechanics which really haven't changed much.

Key differences you will notice on the field:

- fleshed-out Skills Trainer for teaching you how to play the game (absolutely use this if you are a new player)
- expanded controls specifically for running backs and any other player carrying the football (Precision Modifier, foot planting matters)
- better AI (particularly along the offensive line and defenders in zone coverage)
- better feedback for defensive line controls
- new camera angles, and camera position may be changed pre-play on the D-Pad (do try out the chase camera when playing as a defender)
- Jim Nantz and Phil Simms on commentary, a more unified game presentation experience (not 2K or The Show quality, but it has taken positive steps forward)

The franchise mode in Madden NFL 15 is completely different than the Madden NFL 10 experience. Now called "Connected Franchise", it basically turns the NFL season into an RPG at every level. As players and coaches win games and achieve statistical accomplishments, they earn XP, which you may use to improve their ratings and abilities however you see fit. The mode is also fully online-enabled and is a 1:1 experience match online vs offline, unlike Madden NFL 10 which had a bare-bones online franchise mode which among other things lacked an offseason free agency period. So if you have a lot of friends who play Madden, you could create an online franchise, invite them in, and do the whole franchise experience; season, playoffs, draft, free agency, etc.

I don't play a whole lot of Madden Ultimate Team, but that mode was introduced in Madden NFL 10 via a patch and I imagine has been expanded upon _a lot_ in the past five years; it's a big money-maker for EA nowadays.

That's an at-a-glance comparison of M10 vs M15. I think M15 is worth picking up, I had a lot of fun with this year's Madden game.
