I believe Rev Heat said you could actually.

Re: Madden NFL 16 Videos - Prerelease Thread

I know Madden should have been had WR/DB interactions like this awhile ago, but man, seeing it now is amazing. Maybe the #1 thing I've wanted in Madden. The only time I believe it's been anywhere close to this was back on PlayStation 2 and Xbox.

Just love seeing the hand fighting, pass interference calls, the "talking" after the play and etc. Also watching QJB videos have me so excited to play CB this year like I used to do in NCAA RTG. Just being able to play against Dez, Desean Jackson, Andre Johnson, AB and etc and having to worry about different things.

I also feel this will be one of the best maddens ever like another poster was saying. Catches might be OP out of the box, but offline can be fixed with sliders even though I hate messing with them. And online, hopefully, EA will tune it just a little from spectacular catches happening every game. But I can't wait.

Re: Madden NFL 16 Videos - Prerelease Thread

Each year as these new Madden's and NBA games near release, I am beginning to realize that these games are catering less & less to simulation sportsgamers, as well as people of my age group (30+ somethings).

These games are now heavy with online components, all while offline components like player & roster editing are being omitted (I'm looking at you, NBA Live). All these create-a-player modes in conjunction with online multiplayer modes are where all the money is going to now. Which is no surprise that developers are moving in this direction when PS4 and Xbox initially sought out features like requirements for always being connected to their networks in order to operate the console, the end of physical disc media in favor of download-only games, prohibiting users from storing music that they own on the consoles so that they have [to pay] to use the console's respective music streaming service, etc.

It's a different world. I can't just pop in my game and enjoy it without having to log into servers, without it missing basic features useful to my individual offline experience. Furthermore all of this online/social networking stuff is mostly for people with lots of time on their hands because they probably don't have families to provide for, etc., i.e., young adults, teenagers, kids alike. When I see stuff like (in a recent Draft Champions video) the pocket collapsing on Russell Wilson after like a 7-yard dropback, he makes a quick move 2 yards to the left and in the same motion fires a rocket pass away from his body to Brian Finneran 35 yards downfield, who proceeds to make ridiculous one-handed catch, and I continue to see this year after year after year ... or when I see a quarterback sprinting out of the pocket to the right sideline, and in one quick motion fires a laser across his body to a wide receiver 10 yards upfield to the opposite hash mark, and I continue to see this year after year ... then that tells me EA really doesn't mind that such unrealistic stuff is in the game. The kids & casuals playing the game get super excited about that type of stuff, it's what makes the game fun to them, and guess who's mostly buying the game? Them.

I just don't know how much longer I'll last in the game -- and I love videogames. Unfortunately it looks like I -- and those like me -- will have to get with the times, either play by developers' rules and accept these games for what they are, or exit stage left.

Re: Madden NFL 16 Videos - Prerelease Thread

Really loving what Ive seen of M16 in the user vids here, from a visual standpoint. The new animations really stand out to me - some new spot on tackling animations - single leg tackle when the carrier does a juke ; the tackler even kind of picks ups the carrier by that leg . Seen maybe a handful of new spot on tackling animations. Saw Demarius Thomas get tackled out of bounds a yard short of the goal line by 3 defenders and it looked spot on real. I'm only watching the vids on my phone and the res is horrible but that's what I'm saying to myself a lot " Yes, that looks spot on real! Finally, do we have a Madden that looks next gen in animations and graphics" . Even players walking around and in action, graphics and animations seem like they've taken a certain step forward that my eye's needed. I can't be sure though because I am only watching on my phone, but I can kind of tell, it's there.
Rec/DB interaction is another tangible step in that direction - I see multiple steps in the "spot on" direction and seeing this step happen simultaneously is so visually pleasing.
I love a couple of the WR/DB animations I've seen while others are too spectacular. The fighting for the ball and catching it - needs to happen less DUH , but the catch I saw E. Sanders do where he just raised over a mistimed jump from a DB and caught the ball right over him - PERFCECT. Also really like some of the DB knocking the ball out of the WRs possession, one where the DB turned and faced the WR and another when the DB was kind of boxed out. Saw OBJ catch a deep ball he jumped for on the run ,and he then stumbled, perfectly on his own and went down I believe. Also the QB/RB exchange on handoffs and play action looks greattt, looks damn real. Dropbacks look better too I believe
To be passed the weird morphing happenings on pile tackles - is a blessing. You realize how big of an eye sore that was. Players getting up after tackles normally, does a lot for the game's look.

So I'm expecting a step forward visually when I get the game in my hands. The graphics don't have to be that much better than 15' but I think there's a step forward from an animations standpoint that will do a lot of good for the game visually. Players seem to even walk around more 'realistically", especially after getting up after tackles. Even in the Madden TV commercial where V.Davis makes a spam spectacular one handed catch, the animation and fluidity of his body looks really good , looks 'real'.
My biggest wish is that the run game looks/plays much better than last year. Haven't focused on it in the vids. Hoping there's less getting off blocks and making a tackle all in one warp speed motion. Also better evading of your own blockers as the BC. Those two fixes would make for something I wouldn't mind calling the perfect upgrade of a game in a year. Not sure if this will be the case though
Also would like to see betterment of QBs stepping up in the pocket, but sacks are somewhat fixed so I guess that's enough there.
Spam rocket/spectacular catches supposedly can be fixed w sliders.

So ya, thinking the game will be a good upgrade ; with manageable quarks . Still pissed there's no CPUvCPU in CFM though. The workaround better still work or else

Damn I can't wait to get the game, excited for it visually! S/O Jarebear and Reverend for the vids!
