2-player franchise

My friend and I grab madden every year to draft a fantasy team and play it through together with one of us playing QB and one playing RB/WR on the same team. Those of you who do this probably know EA messes with us, pulling this feature out every couple of years and sticking it back in.

In this years version, we drafted a team using cloud franchise mode (big regret) and it seems that the online mode doesn't let you move the second controller over. However, doing some testing, it seems you can do it in an offline franchise.

Just wondering, has anyone figured out a way to a) add a friend to your online franchise and have them on your team or b) failing that, "downloading" a cloud franchise, so to speak, and bringing it offline so you can have two controllers on the same side?
