TUTORIAL: How to Disable Drive Goals For Solo CFM

Note: since patch 2 confidence has been tune down. While you still get drive goals you get 1 or 2 per game with rare 4+. You don't get 5 or 6 constantly like before. That being said. Using this workaround to completely disable drive goals is personal preference. Sim games doesn't get drive goals. So with the workaround you level the ground for both. Cpu and user.

I`m going to do a separate thread because it doesn`t involved controlling the 32 teams and i feel it`s spamming that thread. Also it will be easier for me to answer any question related to this, since this has been talked in many other threads.

Anyway the work around is very simple, basically you have to assign user coach to the team you are playing against and then after the game you retired him (before you advance week)

1.-No , Coach does not retire. User just stopped controlling that team
2.-No, schemes or playbook is not changed
3.-Is really fast and it feels transparent to the whole League
4.-Your XP and Confidence is still working. What we are doing is disabling the confidence gain from the Dynamic Drive Goals

Retiring just means you stopped controlling that team, that`s all.

To everyone new, what this does is disable the Dynamic Drive Goals from played game. This are causing confidence to increase at alarming levels causing your whole team playing over their ratings. On paper this increase may not seem that high (5 or 7 rating increase) but in gameplay it really change how it plays. CFM without this doesn`t play as Play now at all. My qb stopped throwing erratic passes and my OL started getting many pancakes. Yes i have screens.

This is how it looks a game after playing with drive goals

And this is with the workaround

You go up and down without drive goals. With drive goals you are only going up and at week 8 most of your team will have 99 confidence.

This is the video showing how to do it. look at it, it is very very simple and fast.
If you are like me that want to feel like you are part of a living league this may work for you. If not i then recommend the 32 teams.

This video shows that you can use this multiple times, coach is still there. I already played with the redskins on week one, and i can still do it on week 4. Also tried this after siming 1 year and it was all good. Coaches stats even still there.

I tested this too by taking control of and retiring Chuck Pagano about 6 times over a 5-week period. I didn't notice any issues whatsoever.

Working, so can't watch the video right now, but do you need to delete the tuner for this to work also? Is it recommended? And this can be done in an online or offline, solo CFM, correct?

Thanks for all the help to everybody testing this.

Yes, immediately after your game retire that user/coach from the team you just played, advance week and then setup new user/coach for your next opponent. If you have not set up a new user before it takes only 30secs.

Aaaahh.. Ok so you retire the coach AFTER you play...

            That was my only question...

People suggest deleting the tuner to remove some of the issues seen by many users and describe in threads all across the board. As has been mentioned and seems to work for me as well is to delete the tuner, ensure you have the latest patch installed, then redownload the tuner.

                    Booker,

So you are playing owner mode? Finally, do you set Coach Firing to ON and Progression to weekly?

So I dont delete my coach ever? Just add a new coach to the team I am about to play.. then once the game is finished, instantly delete him.

                      Advance the week

Then add a new coach to my next opponent and so on....

And doing this there are no side effects at all? Stats run fine? CPU controls all its roster decisions trades, FAs etc?

Right i must be missing something here because this is going straight over my head:

1st Video, you seem to chose the HC for the Jags, which makes snse as you arep laying them next... however before playing you instantly retire him? Where as in the notes it should be done after the game?

2nd Video, why and what has the Redskins coach got to do with the Jets game? I dont get that at all.

As I say, its probably something simple but im over thinking stuff atm - why EA do this to me

IF he downloaded the tuner before he downloaded the newest patch he needs to delete tuner and then re-download it so that it is applied on top of patch.

Can you use custom playbooks with this method? I figured since you are simulating another user, you could assign the other team a playbook like those found here:
