Missing defensive formation

Am I missing something..there use to be a 43 front that moved the strong side LB, DE to "right side"..I believe it was under Bronco playbook...this formation was huge when running under fronts..and allowing ur weak side DE to be un-covered when offense flopped strong side..just wish they allowed for quick flop of the front and personal to adjust to strong side

Re: Missing defensive formation

I believe the formation you may be referring to was called '4-3 Under Bronco' or something like that in M15, which had the DE (Von Miller) playing a standup DE/LB hybrid??

With Jack delRio out and Wade Phillips in as DC, Denver's playbook is now a 3-4. Check out the Oakland playbook as that is Del Rio's new team. I think the '4-3 Odd' formation found in the OAK book may be what you are looking for. I find it very useful for situations as you describe when the offense changes strength.

I looked no dice..or at least while checking in custom playbooks..that current Odd set I found only creates a 34 look with 43 personal..my way to "fix" this is subs and use 46 base front as my option to strong side moving to the right side..also use 43 over which is aligned wrong as my bear front...D playbooks need complete rework as the personal and alignments are off in many

Edit: but thank u for looking

Re: Missing defensive formation

speaking of missing formations - there used to be the BIG Nickel formation, which I have not seen in a couple years...

The Big NIckel, which was created by defensive coordinator Fritz Shurmur used a typical 5 DB nickel defense but replaced one cornerback with a safety to allow for better run defense.

I could have have sworn it was still available for custom playbooks as a set, but it's not. Not sure the thought process behind that but it might have been viewed as redundant because Big Nickel is still available as a package in regular Nickel Normal sets, and Nickel Strong is basically defaulted to the big nickel because it's a three safety formation, and they added a few coverages and blitzes to it.

Sounds like Big-Dime? That's in Dallas' playbook and basically puts SS1 in the box as a linebacker.
