Attributes and Traits that should be taken out of madden

I feel like over the years madden has become to complex with all the attributes and traits and I feel alot of them contradict each other or that some should have different meaning.
Example- Consistincy should be how a player performs week in and week out not just for practice. That could cancel out Dev trait,High motor trait.
Another one isBig hitter trait, that should be determined by hit power.
Carry should cancel out the holds on to ball trait.
Drops open passes should have to do with catch and so on, I think you get what I'm talking about.
Let me know what you guys think and what you think could be changed.

Fundamentally I agree but I think the implementation is where we go out separate ways.

If they aren't already, traits should be implemented only for AI. For example, big hit trait would be the players tendency to aggressive tackle vs conservative (70% more likely with trait) and the power with witch the tackle takes place is hit power.

Player potential limits should absolutely replace development. The only thing that should ideally impact a player exceeding his potential is the confidence or coaching staff.

I like dev trait & high motor trait, but I think consistency could be removed. The others you mentioned could also be removed... I'd also add the different catch type traits could be removed. I think what type of catch you attempt is fairly intuitive and can be done by any athlete... it's just a matter of how successful you are when making them, which is where the ratings come into play. Further, they don't seem to be implemented very well... I don't see any differences between players who have these traits and those who dont.

I think some of the traits are interesting and should be kept in... things like "force pass" for QBs, play ball vs. conservative when the ball is in the air for DBs, etc.

In some cases, there are valid playstyle (or "trait") differences where different players can have a different approach to the game (forcing pass vs. being conservative with your throws); in other cases, there really shouldn't be a difference, as the right playstyle is intuitive (covering the ball when you're about to get hit, making an aggressive catch in tight 1v1 coverage)

I agree because all it does is overly complicate something that should be simple. Instead of giving players a trait and having it be yes they have it or no they don't give it an empirical value like every other attribute or just leave them out.

I am not sure if I would remove anything, but there are a few changes I would like:

Many of the traits should not be simple binary yes/no toggles. I think it is stupid that something like using a spin move is limited to yes or no. It should be a numeric tendency measurement like what is found in NBA 2k player ratings.

In general I am in favor of expanding the ratings.
