ideas to improve immersion in game and playoffs
Immersion needs to be improved in madden in my opinion. The crowds feel semi lifeless. Some improvements are noted but can be improved upon, like crowds getting on their feet when a td is scored. It should happen when a ball is in the air or when a RB breaks away the crowd should start anticipating. They likely coded in triggers for when the ball crosses the end zone but it feels wrong and flat.
Playoff atmosphere needs revamping. It just doesnt feel like the playoffs to me. Crowd feels the same, atmosphere just isnt there. Crowds need to be louder, cut scenes should reflect more urgency and emotion.
TD celebrations need lots of work. Multiple player celebrations, especially on td's at key times/game winners etc.
One other thought I had was in using the controller for atmosphere. They have had the heartbeat function on game winning FG's for some time but they need to go way beyond that and incorporate that functionality alot more. As simple as it is it does help add to the atmosphere and triggers you to have a reaction to a pressure situation. That function could be incorporated into big 3rd downs on offense/defense, 4th down conversions, two minute drills etc. Watching the PAts Broncos AFC title game last weekend was a perfect example of a white knuckle finish where both sidelines must have had such nerves rushing through them on that final drive.
What ideas do you guys have?
