Can't say I ever cared. I always thought that it was fixed PR stunt, anyway. I kinda liked the old days when they just announced a player that tied into whatever gameplay changes were in store.

This is what I expect the Madden 17 cover to somewhat look like, and I think pass rush could be a gameplay focus.

Re: No Cover Vote this year, thoughts?

I'm guessing no vote because it is going to be a send off to Peyton Manning.

Do this today: Instead of $%*#!@& on a game you're not going to play or movie you're not going to watch, say something good about a piece of media you're excited about.

Do the same thing tomorrow. And the next. Now do it forever.

Don't feel either way about it. Never cared who was on the cover but it wasn't like the cover vote was taking time away from them doing any work on the game. Cover vote is just the beginning of the hype train.

With Miller as the cover athlete or a focus on pass rush?

Focus on pass rush of course, the person on the cover doesn't matter to me at all.

Re: No Cover Vote this year, thoughts?

I highly prefer no cover vote. It always amounted to a bandwagon choice and wasn't always necessarily the overall best or most standout player. I felt the same way about the probowl, it was a popularity contest and not actually a contest of skill.

The person/people chosen to be on the cover should either be chosen by the game devs either looking at who was statistically the best in the relevant position they are looking to add. The other option (and the one I prefer) is to have the players vote on who should be on the cover similar to how they did the top 100 players.

In all senses I don't really care who is on the cover of the game because I rarely ever look at the case after I've opened it (except to put the game up when switching games in my system and even less so now with digital download) but even if that wasn't the case there is always the custom cover thread.

I just got tired of it being a simple popularity vote because I can guarantee you that if the vote happened this year we would be looking at Scram Newton or Josh Norman when I believe their are better players than them that AREN'T the popular option. My question is, when will we start getting coaches on the cover (that aren't Madden) now that's what I'd like to see.
