Re: Fantasy Franchise Progress

Gonna do a redraft of my Rams. Thankfully I am only 2 games into the preseason. I realized I have almost no impact draft picks & didn't draft any long term youngsters. Gonna address that with a redraft. Results will be posted.

Outlook

Owner Stan Kroenke was successful in moving the Rams back to LA. With the advent of the 1st ever league wide draft, Kroenke made a major move. He fired Jeff Fisher and his GM & brought in rookie Coach - Joe Smith to lead the team on the field and fill the role of GM. The Ram's feel like they are in good position at the end of the draft. Heres a position by position breakdown.

QB: Carson Palmer brings elite production and a veteran presence to the new look rams. Behind him, things look scary. Veteran Matt Cassel & youngster Garrett Grayson will battle it out for the role of backup QB. Grayson is said to have the edge due to his youth and legs.

HB: The starting job is Ezekiel Elliott's to lose. He will work with the 2nd team in the preseason in order to get some reps under his belt. DeAngelo Williams provides a serviceable option in the event of an injury. Fred Jackson & Reggie Bush shouldn't see much action barring an injury.

FB: John Conner gives the Rams a strong body to clear the way for Elliott.

WR: Overall, a serviceable unit. Torrey Smith is by far the best option at this point, though Brian Hardline & Eddie Royal should fit in fine with Carson Palmer tossing the ball. Marquise Lee was drafted as a project, with Jason Avant & Harry Douglas serving as capable depth.

TE: Brent Celek & Vernon Davis will look to give the Rams above average production at the TE position. Rookie Austin Hooper will look to build on his overall game and looks to factor into next year moreso.

O-Line: LT Jason Peters leads a solid if unspectacular group on the O-Line. None the less, the unit looks good enough to protect Palmer and open holes for Zeke.

D-Line: LE Michael Bennett should make the rest of the line play better. Nick Fairley is a lock to start at DT. RE Randy Gregory has the youth to really shine. The second DT spot is up for grabs, with Sylvester Williams battling it out with rookie Willie Henry.

LB's: MLB C.J Mosley and veteran A.J. Hawk hope to provide enough with a huge hole sitting on the roster at ROLB. Veteran Calvin Pace may see his fair share of time at ROLB as the season progresses.

DB's: The secondary is the strength of the Rams. Harrison Smith & Kam Chancellor team up to take the top away from opposing offense's. Veteran Jimmy Smith should provide some stability at Corner, with Jermey Lane & Rookie Eli Apple filling out the starting roles. 2015 disappointment Justin Gilbert will hope to turn things around.

ST: The Rams addressed kicker & punter with their last two picks. Jason Myers (K) & Andy Lee (P) have ridiculous leg strength which is what Coach Smith wanted out of those positions. Eddie Royal, Reggie Bush & Marqise Lee should provide the Rams with good field position all season long.

Re: Fantasy Franchise Progress

I've just finished my Pre-season and First game of the regular Season. I Only played 2 halfs of the pre-season to find my proper sliders for the CPU play. everything looked pretty good except for a few blown coverages. Got it fixed during the next 2 games. Although there are still some blown, it was mostly because the starters were gassed and the 2's were in covering 1's. Created fairly realistic stats. The CPU is still throwing far too well, but i've already lowered the accuracy to 10 for them, not gonna go any lower for fear of <60% completion rate from all QB's. Many of the completions i saw were On drag routes for little to no gain... So i'm okay where it is until it gets to be a problem. But i played a game vs Brady after i corrected them and it looked good to me.

As i Did Sim most of the pre-season (i wont after the first season, just hate the opening pre-season, always have!) I'll tell you all now that the Texans lost every game by almost blowout status. Our two biggest losses coming against the 49'ers in game 1. Lost 3-30. Lynch threw an INT on his 2nd pass...

Our worst loss came against the saints. We lost 49-10. This was a simmed game, i did not watch any of it. Lynch had 1 TD and 2 fumbles (i assume on sacks).

Our Running game performed poorly in every game of the pre-season. We netted 187yds over 4 games.

My Backup QB Matt Cassell went down in the 1st game of the pre-season with a torn pectoral. He'll return sometime before the mid season.

From this point on all of my entries here will be in "Story mode". Assuming im not too tired tonight, i'll upload 1st game stats and how it went down.

Nice! Thanks.

EDIT: So I created a table with my roster. How do I save it? It only gives me an HTML code to copy and paste.

Re: Fantasy Franchise Progress

Season Opener

The Rams open the season away, against the 49ers. Coach Smith has announced that Willie Henry has indeed won the starting job for the Rams aside veteran Nick Fairley. Another announcment from Coach Smith - Smith guaranteed 8 wins for the Rams, which may upset some fans, but was determined to be a lofty goal for a coach with no experience.

49ers Keys To Success

*Rookie Quaterback Jared Goff will have to minimize mistakes against the Rams if he wants to walk away with his first NFL victory.

*A.J. Green / Antonio Gates - Green will present a tough matchup for Rams corner Jimmy Smith. Both Green & Gates will need to catch everything Goff throws there way.

*Front 7: The 49ers front 7 is led by Justin Houston and youngster Leonard Williams. Expect heavy pressure from the 9ers as they attempt to make up for a weak secondary.

Results of the draft will be posted - all games will be played to include preseason for me.

Hope some of you guys participate, the show thread was a great success!
Yo JSmith!! Glad you started this thread.

I am going to draft a team this week and will post it here. It will be a very casual CFM for me as I am immersed in my Raiders CFM. However.....this is my excuse to have a Dolphins team on Madden 17!!! Ha ha ha .

Look forward to posting the depth chart soon!
