From just technique wise, you want to shade the CB to the inside on the reciever to stop quick inside route such as the slant. So if he is on your left, you shade the CB to the right. In man shade him inside, cover 2 generally the corner will line uo head up to outside to funnel the reciever to the safties and LB's. Cover 3 and 4 you want your corners off to take away the deep ball. So call the defense for want you are trying to stop and also adjust to their formation.
