Is Johnny Manziel playable this year?

I have Phillip Rivers but was offered SS TJ Ward which fills a huge need. Rivers has good accuracy (91SAC, 88MAC, 81DAC) but his 88THP will drop by 2 points every year due to his age.

Johnny Manziel is on my team and has 88 THP with blazing speed (88ACC, 91AGI, 90BCV) but lower accuracy, I am thinking I can build up Manziel's accuracy (81SAC, 77MAC, 78DAC) over a season or two even with his Slow trait worries me a bit.

Worst case, I draft a QB instead of a SS next year but is he worth the frustration or really fun to play.

Yes he is! I started a chargers franchise and traded rivers brought in jff to start the tanking and drafted a qb. Jff is still my backup. I have a soft spot for the kid.

How well did JFF play for you? Was there a noticeable difference between his accuracy and Rivers?

I labbed a few games and Johnny Football played pretty well but I never trust results of CPU games compared to live opponents

You make no sense at all.

The title ask "is Jonny Manziel playable this year?" which is a question, but you already have him and are playing with him. I don't get it.

He was definitely in Madden 15. Madden 16 he was so-so. I think you answered your own question about him this year. Some decent physical attributes, but not likely to improve much (hello, real life).

Trying to get other peoples opinions on him as my QB skill is not that great.

If you're using default passing accuracy settings, then every QB is playable, IMO.
