So before i start I have an important question about rebuilding.

So if you pick the browns etc doesn't matter really. Do i have to either turn off coach firing or pick the teams owner? I am asking because I always pick decent teams but this year want to rebuild. Would leaving on coach firing make it impossible to rebuild? Since if you suck you probably will get fired. IF you get fired is that it? for that team.

Does playing owner mode allow you to always keep the team no matter how bad the record?

First time through with the 49ers with a custom coach I simmed to get to the draft to see what it was like. Went 1-15 and got fired. Didn't notice I was fired (although I saw I had offers from other teams) and got to the draft and was forced to retire lol...

Second time through I turned off coach firing season 1. I turned it back on season 2. I went 7-9 (my goal was 7 wins) and I received a 3 year extension.

Not sure what the cut off is for being fired, but at 1-15 I deserved it

I would suggest going the owner route if you are looking at rebuilding, it is the only way I play.

The season goals you pick will also play a part in the firing. I won 2 superbowls in a row, set my season goal as make playoffs, Andrew luck misses half the season and I only win 5 games, and got fired

I rebuild myself and I leave coach firing on and I play as a coach.. so in the preseason try to fill some gaps with some FA's and trades then once wk1 starts select your goal depending on how well you think the team will do and each goal has a "chance to be fired" ranging from low to high and pick based off of how confident you are in the team and it's players which adds to realism and not knowing wether you'll be fired depending on your season and goals etc.

I usually do a massive rebuild stage for Lions and I take note of all my trades I did so that I can easily go back and re do it should I feel the need to.. you should check out my posts in CFM regarding rebuilding.. you might be interested.. I also tend to only do realistic trades that would happen in real life and not take advantage of the CPU otherwise it's no fun

Question regarding owner mode: does the game auto fire your coach ever to yoir knowledge? Thanks.
