Madden-FIFA

Why don't the Madden devs take what has been done for FIFA nd implement it? The graphics especially look a lot better in FIFA than Madden. I was playing the FIFA demo and I was amazed by how realistic the grass and turf looked in FIFA as well as the shadows on the bodies. If only Madden could look that good. Even the announcers sounded better in relation to it sounding like an actual broadcast. I don't understand the poor efforts over the years when they have what it takes to accomplish it. You'd think after 25+ years they would be more on point, but they are not there yet to realism

Fifa switched to the frosbite engine this year. Speculation is that Madden will be using it next year as well.

When I talked to Rex a while back I didn't get the feel we were going frostbite next year. I am thinking we may be two years out, but we will see.

Nothing wrong with that. No reason to rush it and not iron out the kinks.

They went with FIFA this year, rumor is NBA Live returns next year on it, and I think Madden will be the last transition to it. They are still doing a lot of digging in legacy code trying to figure out what everything actually does, this is why I really think they will be the last one over.

That pretty much explains why Madden plays best out of the box or upon its release since the ongoing updates tend to set off a chain reaction of unforseen (and unwanted) changes that the community notices. I believe this current Madden team is the best its been, and I'm on board with the notion that if the dev team remains intact, then we'll see a smooth transition into Frostbite engine for the Madden series.

Re: Madden-FIFA

Switching to the Frostbite engine certainly helps, but don't forget competition also forces Fifa to be better since it has to compete with PES for the market. This obviously forces EA to produce a better product or lose value.

You mean operating in free market is going to result in the product with no competition being the least innovative?
