This is the unfortunate truth, regardless of what is said. They've proven that more and more each year.

More like an 8-10 year plan.

These write-ups are great and very indepth, and would be a dream come true. But there's just so many features that would take forever to build.

When Madden's Franchise mode is no longer a shell of what other sports games franchise modes are then they should focus on things like longshot. NBA 2k My League and MY GM are infinitely better than Maddens CFM. Fixing Madden is not nearly as complicated as EA has made it seem... Nice suggestions. The game vision you presented for Madden if implemented would be the most popular sports game in the US by a wide margin.
Man even if they threw a ton of more resources at Madden's cfm. It would still be 3 years till get all these features in.

Re: FRANCHISE: OVERHAULED

Fantastic post! Like others have said it seems now Ultimate Team modes are killing franchise players like myself. Remember Superstar mode, create a fan? It's crazy how that was in 2007's game but not 2017's game. Let's hope CFM gets some attention in Madden 19!

Re: FRANCHISE: OVERHAULED

Nice post and as others have said, it would take years to implement all that.

The biggest ones for me would be the 46 man active roster (for strategy) and a revamped rating system. Way too many 90 players. I would prefer if there were only 10-12 90 rated players with pro bowlers - very good starters in the 80s. 70s for average starters and 60s for backups.

I think if they actually committed to CFM, it could be done in a few years with a solid, playable mode done after 2. Once the progression system is established, which really doesn't seem difficult to implement imo (tweaking would take time, but the concept shouldn't be tough) a lot of the pieces fall into place.

Re: FRANCHISE: OVERHAULED

Well this post answers my questions if I should update my game! No I should not. EA still doesn't concern itself with making a good game when the mindless masses just update each year regardless.

As far as how long would it take? If EA lost their exclusivity contract. Madden 2019 would have things a heck of a lot better. If not them, then you can sure bet NFL 2K19 would have them. They may have flaws in their gameplay, but these other features would be pretty decent.

It's not a matter of can't it's a matter of reskinning and data entry is all they will worry about from now on, because they don't need to put effort in. There's features on here that are from second gen consoles that they pulled.

Don't get me wrong, if someone gave me the newest Madden I'm not going to scold them. But it's now $80CAD for the new game. I'll stick with the $5 Madden 25 I got last year for PS3 (was playing Madden 09 for ps2 before)

Re: FRANCHISE: OVERHAULED

A lot of great ideas in here... and I think some could be implemented with minimal fuss... Such as expanding on a pretty bare bones scouting / draft system. Get more info from interviewing guys on your draft board, seems like an easy thing to do.

That said, in the grand scheme of things you're essentially asking for an Out Of The Park styled management sim to be grafted into Madden... and to be honest... I'd hate it. I enjoy management-lite on consoles, management-heavy on PC. Morale? Position Coaches? Cooridnators? Playbook knowledge? Let's face it, that's micromanagement busywork... which I love under the proper conditions. I've been an OOTP guy since the early days. Flying around on a keyboard and mouse to micromanage is one thing... plopping all this into PS4 controller game? Ugh. Can you imagine the dozens and dozens of different screens you'll have to pop thru?
