When he challenged 2K to buy the license a few years ago, I got this arrogant/cocky and unprofessional vibe from him.

And since when do I have to meet a person on a personal level to know if he's arrogant or not? Rex Dickson is very arrogant, his attitudes show that.

So, his public profile he appears arrogant, but how about personally?

Also, in business, a lot of managers have some arrogance about them.

This is so damn true. My brother had a perfectly working solution to a physics problem that choose the object interacted with as the frame of reference from which the physics reaction between the player and object was the “rest frame,” so to speak. But his boss made him tear down the entire thing (months of work) because the boss felt force should come from the player.

Not only is this idiotic from a programming stand point, it’s also bogus from a physics stand point. The principle of relativity (established by GALILEO ffs, and later refined by Einstein to combine electromagnetism and mechanics via the Lorentz transformation superseding the Galileo transformation- jargon, I know, sorry) states that all inertial frames are equivalent. The only thing that matters from a physics standpoint is that the physical event is the same. You can choose any reference frame you want, and you can choose any origin for your coordinate system you want.

In this particular programming case, all that matters is the direction of the force vector is the same. It is irrelevant if it comes from a “push” from the players model or a “pull” from the object interacted with. Yet the boss demanded the entire thing be redone.



Sigh. That was a useless rant but the point is, the people making the games still have to do what their bosses tell them, even if what they are told is idiotic.

In Madden's case I believe and almost know this very true, (to me) Madden 18 is the best while also the worst. This years game is much better than most know but was watered down by higher ups.
