I thought they were finally showing players protesting on the field. I was going to say, i'm officially done with this game.
But for argument sake, these players do take a lot of hits to the knee and use their legs a lot. I just pretend it's like that because of all the punishment they take there.
(Part 1)
Watching the "Superbowl Madden 19 gameplay" footage and something immediately caught my eye. I only saw this once, so this was a rare moment.

@4:10 - 4:15 mark. I had mixed emotions, both frustration and semi-relief. Semi-relief because I see extremely rare hints of proper animations (spoiler tag below), and frustration because hidden animation gems are present but just not used.
The guy sort of tries to stand with vertical straight legs but then goes back to its Madden norm. I took a still image capture of that split moment where the guy stands straight, although NOT perfectly straight (both legs still has a small bend), but the captured still image shows "potential" of what "could be."
JPEG still image of the above sequence: bent leg (frequent) vs straight leg (rare) currently IN Madden 19 Please click on the spoiler tag to see the image WITHOUT the yellow line
Notice how the legs and knee position of the guy on the right actually "supports" the weight of the body (the shins are vertical, the knees are positioned behind). Notice how the guy on the left is in the "quarter squat" position (shins are slanted, knees are positioned over the toes). It's less efficient to stay in the quarter squat position.

If not giving the pink slip at least bring in someone who is more conscious of player movements especially when they're pitching "real player motion." Just because something has been the "madden norm," doesn't mean it's correct.
An example of getting a "second eye" would help make improvements instead of sticking to what is the "madden norm." Bring in someone who is consciously awareness of player movement to breathe realism into Madden's animations.
Kick off return "Madden Step formation" - Not sure if anyone has ever noticed, but Madden's return man always stands in the same location and does this left-right-left-right-left-right "step formation." This is a completely pointless animation because kick returners don't do this. It may "look" like they do this, but they don't. The feet of real kick returners only dances around because they're out of position and are simply tracking the ball location with their feet. If the return man has made the proper read of where the kickoff/punt will land, the return man isn't going to be doing the "madden step formation."
Why is the kick returner dancing around while waiting to receive the football (on the PS4/XB1) when he has already pinpointed the exact location of where the ball will land?
Spoiler
Madden 2005 - Kick returner stands still (realistic)
Because the returner has already tracked the exact location of the football. There's no need for the "madden step formation"
Spoiler
Real NFL Kick returner - Kick returner is tracking the ball with his feet.
NFL return man is out of position. He moves his feet to track the ball. If he was already in the correct location, his feet would not be dancing around. Current PS4/XB1 Madden 19's kick return dances around in one spot without a purpose.

Was literally just about to quote the first post and say it should be similar to fly balls in baseball games when i arrived at post 2...
