One of my biggest issues with Madden in the past has been the restrictions on player height and weight based on positions. Each position fell within certain parameters that were never really breached. It made it hard for things like an undersized lineman, or monster nose tackle. In my opinion it really hurt the authenticity of the draft because it was very cookie cutter.
So I created a spreadsheet for those who create custom rosters and want some variety in terms of height and weight distribution among the positions.

The chart works like this:
1. Look at the roster you are editing and pick a position.
2. Go to the first player on the list and look at their height (For example's sake, we'll say they are a 6'3 quarterback who ways 215 pounds)
3. Then find the position on the chart above, and find the height that aligns with the selected quarterback.
4. Next use a random number generator (they can be easily found online or as a phone app) And set the parameters between 1 and 100.
5. Then run the random generator and compare it to the chart above. (Let's say we got a number of "94" for as an example with our quarterback)
6. Then change the height to whatever height is listed under the number you just randomly generated. (So our example's height would then be changed to 6'5)
7. Repeat the steps with the players weight. (If we rolled a 14, then we would multiply his weight by -5% to get a weight of 204.25 pounds, so his weight would be changed to 204 pounds)
I hope I have explained this well enough. Please let me know if you have any questions. A fun thing to do with this is to adjust ratings based on a player's size. In the example above, the quarterback might have increased arm power strength with his height, but a lower injury rating because he is a thinner guy. You can create some really good storylines out of it all.
Lastly, the chart's probabilities are strongly slanted toward the player either staying the same or barely moving up and down and inch or a couple pounds. There is also restrictions to certain positions. We would never see a 6'10 running back for example, so that isn't possible with the chart above. There is only a small chance of something like a 6'9, 334-pound offensive lineman ever being made. Still though, that small chance is much better than what we have now with limits to player size by position. It's fun to see some physical freaks or undersized athletes make waves, just like we have in the real NFL.
