Re: Talking Football Podcast Interview with Anthony White

RPO discussion. (Didn't pick out anything that sounded new). Mentioned that actual coaches are still trying to find a way to stop the RPOs. (I assume this suggests the RPO may have a good chance of being the meta online)

Man-Match quarter and Palms, Nick saban matching in M19. Now will be evolved in M20.

Cleaned up pattern-matching from mistakes learned from M19. Box fixes.

Mentions the problem with how plays drawn in the play call diagram and how the pattern-matching actually affects Man and Zones caused confusion with users.

trips (3x1) checks fine-tuned. So cover 4 defenses cover as meant through the pattern-matching system.

Cover 4 Palms (Trips check mini) "special" check (1x3) - outside corner (3 wr side) to Man outside receiver with Palms playing on #2 and #3.

* Mentions wanting to educate users on match-making so they understand that adjustments made in coverages mess up the logic implemented in the play where pattern-matching rules are present.

Also mentions looking at adjustments allowed on defense and seeing if the problem of logic busting adjustments made pre-snap may need to be altered. (I am thinking options available for pattern-matching plays or maybe a warning prior to making a risky adjustment?)

(at 24:00) talks of teaching co-workers football concepts. Bringing concepts to life requires engineers be knowledgeable of what they are creating. Says the teaching programs implemented on site have allowed their engineers to become very knowledgable in football concepts. (sounds very promising to me).

Covers Cost-Benefit Analysis.

will there be a new NCAA? "Never say never." people at many levels in the company, including upper level shot callers are interested and see value in an NCAA game.

Mentions QB1 where we get to play 10 NCAA teams. RPOs. Jet sweep touch pass. Mentions formations which sound to be specific to college teams. (my interpretation on the last sentence). Play full games with the college teams in the playoff system.

It's a big, big deal if they've fixed the pattern matching bugs/logic errors. There were still some issues with it in the Beta, so hopefully they made adjustments after the feedback from from that.

Do this today: Instead of $%*#!@& on a game you're not going to play or movie you're not going to watch, say something good about a piece of media you're excited about.

Do the same thing tomorrow. And the next. Now do it forever.

Welcome! Glad to do it.

I am excited about the work mentioned on defense. Interested to see how EA will educate users on the defensive logic of pattern-matching.

"Jet sweep touch pass"

Not sure the context in which this was mentioned, but i noticed when running this play in the beta that it counted as a running play and not a passing play. Hoping they fix this up prior to release so that stats are accurate.

This was while talking of the 10 NCAA teams which will be playable in the QB1 mode. I got the impression that the college teams would have their own playbooks with key formations and plays from the college ranks.

Give me NCAA! Dynasty mode with the gameplay I felt in the beta would be a match made in heaven. Today's graphics with collegiate atmosphere and settings, yes please. EA, please!
