When the commentary actually matches the highlights, it boosts the immersion to a whole new level. Unfortunately, even NBA 2k hasn't matched that level of immersion. I really don't understand how no one has been able to replicate that yet.

EA has a decent starting point here, but like others have mentioned, they need to get some highlights in there. And when he talks about the current game that actually does have highlights, they need to match up the commentary with the highlights. Get some specifics in there, and at an absolutely minimum, make the replay being shown actually of the player he's talking about.

I understand what you are saying about becoming more immersive,and I don't disagree etc..., but my games are 1 hr and 15 minutes on the field and that isn't counting off field between games.

If I get in more than 2 games per week, I am shocked.

More options, the better, always, but it's just not for everyone to watch all the frills in-between games/quarters, etc....

Just my personal take on sports games throughout my gaming experience, YMMV.

How does the halftime show work if every team is human controlled?

I’d assume there would be no scores for other games?

They need someone with some life in them to make the show listenable. Chris Berman gave life to the half time show in 2k5

Meh, it's kinda cool but even as a sim guy, I skip halftime. I like the check in on other games feature, kinda like NCAA 14 does throughout the game.

I remember watching a video interview where they talked about adding highlights. They said something to the effect of its difficult to add highlights from a game that isn't actually taking place, because there's no plays to be recorded. They mentioned NFL 2k5 was a hit with this, but they used pre-recorded plays and just imposed different uniforms. Their excuse was this wouldn't appeal to modern gamers, as it would be repetitive.

On one hand, I get it. I loved 2k5 but after a season or so, I skipped halftimes too because the highlights were the same plays over and over just in different uniforms. On the other hand, it was still cooler than the current setup.
