Cover 4 not working as intended?

Is anyone else having issue with cover 4 safeties going all weird and acting like they are playing man? I think I have given up more deep passes with cover 4 than cover three.

I’ve had players get caught in a back pedal a few times in Cover 4 and let the WR get behind them. The biggest issue I’ve had are with shot plays with the double deep post routes. The inside receiver gets to the 3rd deep defender and the DB just lets the WR run across his face.

Safeties still play so freaking soft. I’ve had plays where they are 10-20 yards deeper than anyone.

The problem I have is against the AI. They go out of zone to play man. However, it’s frustrating bc I throw to someone who should be open but a defender gets an int bc he’s 50 yards out of zone. I can’t throw to the zone he should be in bc there’s no route there. It seems like the AI know 90% of my plays and combat it perfectly.

With coverage when I’m on defence often players are on the wrong man (TE on CB and WR on LB) this is what causes the main problems in coverage for me.

Which Cover 4? In Cover 4 Quarters and Cover 4 Palms Safeties and Corners can end up playing a robber technique based on the release of a keyed receiver. You can convert these to Cover 4 Spot Drop by going into coverage adjustments and pressing “play the sticks”. That will create a prevent form of cover 4 where they drop to their zones and relate to receivers as the enter their zones.

I've heard the work around for now is getting the defense in Play the Sticks

It seems to help the mistakes made by the AI in cover 4 and 6
