Good defense for up the middle passes?

I pick cover 2 , I get burned over middle, same with cover 3. What can I use to stop that.seems like zone defense isn’t working.

Cover 2 - MLB in Deep Blue. Qb Spy a DT. Manually control either of the yellow zones remaining depending on which way you believe the route combo to be headed. So user the yellow zone farthest from the predicted direction of the play (backside).

Crossing routes like drags? Cover 2.

Stationary routes like curls? Man.

Understand that most underneath stuff is going to work. You keep calling it until they make a mistake. They're not going to complete 100%. You're just trying to get them to miss 2 in a row at some point to put them in 3rd & long.

Over the middle is very vague. We also don't know anything about what mode your playing or your settings. If you want to get some advice that's actually useful we'd need to know more.

Re: Good defense for up the middle passes?

I like going cover 4, then taking one of the safeties defending a middle quarter and hot route them to man coverage on either the slot wr or TE. Then manually controlling the other safety.

Depends what you mean by “middle”

Deep,intermediate, or short passes?

What kind of route is it? Slants, ins, drags ?

One option I like is a cover 1 man with safety in buzz zone. You can manually take away the stuff over the middle.

If it’s slants /in routes you can shade the cb inside. For drags putting a d-line in spy helps.

Seems like it’s intermediate over middle, seems like it’s usually third down and long like 10-15 yards needed for a first
