Do you play with the volume off?

Out of all the sports games I play i.e., NHL, NBA, MLB The Show. Madden is the only game I play with the volume off. I find myself just listening to podcast or something while i'm playing. Am I alone on this?

Reason for that is it's just bland. There's no immersion to the sound in conjunction with the game itself from the fans, the announcers, on field sounds, etc. I know they try really hard to get authentic sound from the NFL like what you see on TV, but it's nothing like the other games i've mentioned.

I play every sports game and don't listen to any of them. The commentary has gone stale and I would rather listen to sports radio, a game or a rerun of a TV show.

I usually have the sound on, but not very loud. On another monitor I usually have another game from real life playing. The sounds from the real game are louder than Madden and it does enough to trick my brain and make my game feel like it's a part of a real league.

I listen to the volume with my sound bar and it fills the room. Maddens commentary gets old pretty quick, it's not as boring as The Show so I keep it on. The crowd sound and effects comes thru well.

It depends, I play in league with a few friends. If they're online when I am playing I'll keep the sound on but low and just join chat. If no one is online and it's just me, i turn the sound off and just listen to sports radio. The madden commentary is trash compared to games like 2k in my opinion. I can sit an listen to 2k for the whole game it feels more alive. Madden, it's to repetitive and boring that I have to turn it off.

I play Madden 12, so yeah, I play with the play-by-play off. I now have it so that if I keep the TV volume on, I get the stadium and field sounds.

I do play MLB with play by play (MLB17), definitely on for 2K19 (hasn't worn on me yet) and occasionally on with Fifa19. I'm trying to create more international teams re-tooling club teams in the tournament mode for Fifa so in all likelihood I won't be listening to Fifa anymore either.

The play-by-play in most games gets stale but Madden seemed to wear out its welcome faster than most.

I’ve been playing for years with the volume off and either classical playing or hip hop instrumentals.

Other times I play with the “On the field settings” with mentioned music a tad lower.

I too will listen to podcasts or have a video playing in the background while I play a sports game. That's why every year as the presentation gets more and more bloated, the more irritating it gets for me, because I simply don't care about any of it. I just want to get on the field.
