Whenever I get the new Madden I like to randomly try teams in exhibition by using the "select random team" feature. I try to get a good matchup from the CPU either by rating or by a traditional rivalry.

I was thinking, wouldn't it be fun if Madden had a tournament mode built into it where you can start with 32, 16 or 8 teams and it would have two ways of selecting your team:

1. Pick your team and take them all the way through the tournament.
2. Each round a random team is picked for you randomly.

I think this would be a cool mode to play and have the game sort of force you to maybe play with some teams that you would not otherwise play with.

What do you guys think?

Ahhh, tournament mode. Another thing we used to have. I would be happy to see this feature return with the ability to play any match up I wanted in it plus the ability to import any teams I exported from my CFM into it. I could make a tournament that has all 16 of the SB winners from my CFM in it and see which team was the best of them.

Tournament mode was fun, even had a pool play if I remember...time to fire up the ps2

You guys are right..I guess this isn't a totally new idea at all but I'm remembering an old idea

But I don't think EA ever had a random team option that I speak of above which is sort of a key part of this that I think would make for a different experience.
