Edge, if you don't mind me asking, what are you using for tackle slider? Thx!

Don't mind at all. I put user tackle slider @ 30. Again, I do not know if this will help the OP with CPU vs. CPU as I have not tested my sliders regarding this play style.

I am hesitant to download patch and find same problem...don’t want to delete game load back up again. I guess I’m hanging on till next patch in hopes that Madden might fix this. Right now I’m getting great gameplay my only problem is the QB drop back glitch that was fixed in the patch that broke ball carrier special moves ...so ..I’m in limbo
For some reason, my XBOX was late to the party regarding the last update. Now that I have received it, although I am seeing some special moves by RB's with tackle slider set @ 30, definite decrease is these moves is noticeable. Previously, playing against a CPU RB almost felt like the same as user-controlled. No slider is going to remedy this.

Glad I’m not the only one who felt this.

Release version game really played well.

Now it feels like 19 which sucked.

Does the game have an option to choose tuner or patch version?

I play offline anyway.

Re: Patch 1.11..lil help

My thoughts on the tackle and fumble slider have always been something like this - we know there’s calculations going on during a play, and/or, simply from a programming perspective, these sliders have to affect certain things at certain times. As edge said, also, there’s always a primary and secondary effect, and possibly multiple secondary effects depending on the slider and whatever calculations are happening under the hood.

So, something like the tackle slider. The primary effect should certainly be simply whether or not a tackle is made by the defender when he hits a ball carrier. The higher the tackle slider, the more likely the ball carrier is tackled and vice versa. This is what u see, imo. But, I’ve also noticed the higher the tackle slider, the better the blockshed. This seems to me to be simply some calculation going on during a blocking assignment as a ball carrier comes close, some calculation happens for blockshed, and the tackle slider is a part of that, and so u get a quicker blockshed in order for the player to tackle the ball carrier.

So, the same has always appeared that way for ball carrier moves in relation to tackling. The lower the tackle slider, it’s almost as if a ‘zone of tackling radius’ is changed. Because the tackler now is less able to tackle the ball carrier, the ball carrier avoids the tackler at a greater distance or has better timing for jukes to not be tackled.

Fumble slider can be the same as well. I’ve heard over the years people like to put fumble slider high (less fumbles), and this helps the ball carrier as well. Meaning, because he fumbles less, he avoids big hits, or simply put, the hit stick animations won’t trigger because he won’t be in position because the fumble slide won’t ‘let him’ be in position.

In prior maddens, I always lowered fumble slider because I felt there weren’t enough fumbles, in general. This year is different. Lol. Way too many fumbles, so I’ve raised it to like 67 right now, I think, and many others are talking like 70-75 against enforcer x-factors.

I also think cpu Acc affects rb juking and spins. Lol. Sounds ridiculous, but again, these sliders can affect certain calculations going on, and even the devs admit they’ve had strange things happen when tuning the game. I think I’ve often seen better rb moves around 30-32 qb Acc.

All that being said, I recently played against Gurley, and while I recall him breaking a lot of tackles and gained 130 yards or so, I can’t remember him juking out anyone. So, I think edge may also be right that whatever madden added in the last update may not be able to be slidered out. I guess we’ll see.
